(Posted: 10th May, 2006) |
| Answer: Yes you can, but i wouldn't recommend it. Carbs are useful to protect protein being converted to energy and used for fuel. Low GI carbs will add in building lean muscle. Most people make the mistake of reducing carbs too much when they start a weight loss diet. |

| Question 11: I'm thinking of stripping the fat and going on a very low carb diet. The only sources of carbs will be from vegetables and fruit. I would however, like to get more muscle WHILE losing the fat, so I have decided to boost my protein intake and lower the carbs. Will this Horley's Ice be the best option? What other powders would you recommend? I would also like to take the protein not only after workouts, but also during the day too? |
(Posted: 2nd Nov, 2006) |
Answer: Hoerleys Ice is an excellent protein. Make sure you take in some carbs post training to replace glycogen store or else you could get very weak.
Also consider syn-tec nitro plex or Syntrax Matrix for a sustained release protein for through the day. However if you protein meals are regular, Ice should work very well. |

| Question 12: I go to the gym 5 times a week alternating between cardio and weight training. I am 5ft 10 and approx 70kg and I am wanting to loss body fat while gaining lean mass. What combination of products would you suggest for the best results? |
(Posted: 22nd Jan, 2007) |
Answer: Sorry for the late reply, our FAQ's weren't updating to the site.
I would switch from the Ice to the Ripped Factors and then add in Scorch, Lipo 6, Hydroxycut hardcore or dymetadrine xtreme. Keep your diet high in clean proteins and low in carbs in the evening and eat at least 5 meals a day. |

(Posted: 11th March, 2007) |
| Answer: Yes the 2 are comparable and people change from one to the other. It is difficult to say which is best overall, as both have their followers. We highly recommend both VP2 & the Horleys Ice, so perhaps give the Ice a try if you are looking for a change. |

(Posted: 25th Oct, 2007) |

| Question 27: My sister trains 4-5 times per week, generally cardio and x-training sessions. Would you recommend horleys ice as a suitable protein supplement to assist her with her training. She is 167cm tall and weighs approx 56kg and has no desire to get any bigger. I was considering this product purely to aid in recovery and provide necessary protein for her continued training? |
(Posted: 14th Nov, 2007) |
| Answer: Yes. If she keeps her carb level to a moderate level and only uses the protein after a workout it should not increase muscle mass. Muscle mass is gained with weight training excercises, high colarie diets and hormone levels (on average it is six times harder for women to gain muscle than men). |

| Question 28: I’ve been using ICE Whey for about 2 years now, having a protein shake morning and night (always immediately after a workout), and have added some lean muscle mass. However I am wondering whether I should be using a WPC or WPI/WPC Blend with added Carbs immediately after a workout for faster absorption, and save the WPI for a pre-bed snack, for slower absorption. Any thoughts on this? Any suggestions for suitable products? |
(Posted: 19th Nov, 2007) |
| Answer: Your methodology is excellent but WPI is the fastest of all protein and the only way to get faster absorption is through Free from amino acids (FFAA's). I would add in some carbs (at least the same amount as protein) post workout to increase muscle growth. Perhaps go for a sustained release protein like Matrix, Musashi 92 or International Synergy 5 for throughout the day and pre bed protein. These protein digest over a 5-6 hour period. |

| Question 29: In my post workout shakes, I often add frozen berries and a small amount of oatmeal – are these suitable for carbs, or should I be adding another product to amp it up a bit? |
(Posted: 20th Nov, 2007) |
| Answer: These are great quality carbs but some may argue a bit too low GI. Perhaps add in Banana's with Rice milk to bump up the speed of glycogen replenishment and stop the protein from being oxidised. |

| Question 30: I am 171cm and weigh 60kg (5% BF) so I'm quite lean. I have been workingout for about a year now but for the past few months I havent had much gains as I previously did. I have been using Musashi Bulk pre+post workout and was thinking to start using a WPI protein such as ICE for post workout and continue to use Musashi Bulk as part of my breakfast/pre-workout supplement. Also, I normallyhave a highcarb meal after working out. Would you recommend ICE or should I stick to Musashi Bulk for my postworkout? |
(Posted: 23rd Nov, 2007) |
Answer: There is a lot of merit behind using a carb/protein blend post training. With a pure Protein (Ice) you may oxidise much of the protein for energy and loose much of the anabolic effect you should get.
Ice with a carb source would be the best bet, but then you would have to buy carbs separately. |

| Question 31: I’m a 43 yr old male, 173 cm tall and weigh 64 kg. I like running (have run three half-marathons) but would also like to bulk up a little bit. I have tried both Horleys and BSC WPI products and find them agreeable as I’m lactose intolerant. I’m also taking 3 caps of Protobolan a day. Is a WPI product the best supplement for me and if so which brand/product would you rate as the best value for money? |
(Posted: 7th Dec, 2007) |
Answer: Yes, this product is fine but i would add some more carbs to the protein for increasing mass. Banana's and rice milk are fine or you can buy Carbo-plex or Extreme carbs if you think that would be better. I would take at least as many carbs as protein around training times.
Take your protobolan before weights and before bed on training days and in the morning and before bed on non training days. |

Question 32: I'm 34 yr old male, 170 cm tall, weigh 84 kg.
I go to the gym 4 days p/week. I started taking ICE WHEY almost a month now and I can see ICE WHEY helps me to recover quickly from post training and gain lean muscle. Also, I take only carbs during the period of workout day to give me energy, but I try to keep cabs at minimum when not working out in the gym.
I take ICE WHEY 5 times p/day:
During breakfast
Lunch time
Dinner
Snack
Before bed time
Am I taking ICE WHEY excessively? Also, why ICE WHEY is not recommended with product with amino acid? What's the consequence if you do take ICE WHEY with Creatine product that has some amino acid? ICE WHEY and Creatine, is that a good combination to gain lean muscle quickly? |
(Posted: 8th Jan, 2008) |
Answer: It is a little excessive. Pre and post workout is a must, breakfast is also a great time. You meals should contain enough protein to make the ICE redundant at these times. However the proof is in the pudding, if you find your recovery suffers you may find you need to take ICE as much as you do; I do find this unlikely though.
ICE contains hydrolysed protein which is like amino acids, however there is no reason why you cant take more. Also creatine woks perfectly with ICE, I am not sure why you think it cant be taken at the same time...go for it! |

I've been taking Awesome mass for the last month and was wondering if I should use it as a pre-workout drink and Ice as a post workout to help gain the weight I need? |
(Posted: 29th Jan, 2008) |
Answer: No, Use Awesome Mass pre and post training. Also increase calorie dence foods through out the day. Eat peanut butter & banana sandwiches, egg noddles and other high calorie foods.
Its all about the protein hitting the muscle cell...hard gainers need calories!
Consider using Syn-Tec MCT oil and Musashi Creatine Recovery Stack or Syn-Tec Creabolan to pack on more muscle. |

(Posted: 13th Feb, 2008) |

Question 40: Hey mate,
I have been using 3 different mass proteins now (GNC Mass XXX, Int. Protein Extreme Mass and now Horleys Awesome Mass) and I have gained 5-6kgs + mass size. However, I am wanting to lose the fat in my belly while gaining muscle. What protein should I be taking? I have been looking at ICE or RIPPED but I don't know what to get or what is good for my situation. I am 17yo, 66kgs, 175cms and I do weight training 4 days a week.
Cheers? |
(Posted: 28th Feb, 2008) |
| Answer: If you are putting on Fat it shows too many calories in the diet. The best thing to do is use high calorie high carb powders around training times and low or no carb powders through the rest of the day. You can buy a protein powder with no carbs in it and buy extreme carbs or Carbo-Plex to take before and after training with their protein powder. |

| Question 41: Hi im 19 yrs old nd weight is 60 kgs. as per my hight which is 175 cm im too skinny. i have just started gym. im planning to go 4 days a week. i want to look perect like not too skinny n not too giant. wat do u reckon ?? protein or weight gainer? which one is best in mega mass, no explode or horley ?? |
(Posted: 20th March, 2008) |
Answer: Hi
Its sound that you need to put on some muscle mass and weight, due to your fast metabolism I would recommend a weight gainer.
We stock lots of different weight gainer protein powders
and its hard to say which type of protein powder would suit you due to the different features eg. content of carbohydrate, protein flavour etc.
(the proof is in the pudding).
Some of the most popular protein powders is Horleys Awesome Mass, Syn-Tec Maximus, International Extreme Mass.
Its very important that you get carbohydrate before and after.
When taking before the body will use the carbohydrate for energy so you can perform longer better and protect the muscle tissue due to the body uses this source of energy instead of the amino's, and directly (in 20min) after so the body can use the protein for muscle development/recovery and not for energy.
Good luck!!! |

| Question 42: I have been goin to gym three to four days a week...I want to gain muscle, look fit, look good and i dun wan to gain any weight or fat...Can i use Awesome Whey?? |
(Posted: 7th April, 2008) |
Answer: Hi
Yes you can use awesome whey, no problem, its also important to be on a good diet as your foundation. due 80% is diet/ recovery and 20 % is training.
if you get a good diet going, you will improve better and with help of the supplementation even better.
As you now protein is is important for our muscle building and recovery, if you are worried about putting on fat i would recommend choosing a protein with low or non-carbohydrate ei. Horleys ice.
just remember that its important to get carbohydrate before and also after for replenishing muscle and liver glycogen stores immediately after exercise is the key to making positive gain and improving exercise performance.
Good luck!! |

(Posted: 8th April, 2008) |
| Answer: Add more carbs to your pre and post protein shake and perhaps use some creabolan or CellTech hardcore. Your problem is almost certainly that you are not consuming enough carbs to protect your protein from being used for energy. Either swap to Awesome mass for pre and post training or buy some Carbo-plex or Extreme carbs and maybe the Creabolan too. |

Question 45: HI,
i am looking to purchase some horleys ice whey. how often should i take it if i am looking to lose body fat and gain lean muscle. i am 74 kg, 5 ft 9 and do 4 weight sessions and 1 cardio session per week.
on training days i have heard it is good to take before and after training, and for breakfast as well. is this true? and how often should it be taken on non-training days to be effective? |
(Posted: 17th April, 2008) |
Answer: Hi
I would recommend to take it 2-3 times a day, One in the morning with breakfast, one before training minimum 30 min before training, and one direct after training and then have food after minimum 1 hrs with good amounts of carbohydrate , fats , and protein.
You can spread it out on your non training days i would recommend to take one in the morning, one at lunch, and one in the afternoon.

i am 19 years old, 182 cm and my weight is 75. i am lean but want to gain a bit more muscle (mabye 80 - 84). i have been going to the gym 4 - 5 times a week for about a month now, and have been using ice whey. is this the right supliment for me and i take it with milk, is that alright??? |
(Posted: 23rd April, 2008) |
| Answer: Yes..in part. You must consume carbs with the ICE to make sure the protein is used to build muscle and not used for energy. Taking with Milk may slow down the absorbtion somewhat but you do get the benefit of the sugars in the milk. I would add in a banana post training to bulk up the carbs. |

Question 52: IHi,
I've read that the best form of WPI for growth and recovery is the one produced through cross flow micro-filtration process and that ion-exchange is a poor choice for body-building since a lot of protein is denatured by this process and many of the goodies like Ige lost as well. What's your take on that? Is there a dood quality protein powder available produced by cross flow micro-filtration? |
(Posted: 11th June, 2008) |
Answer: Hi
you are right the good whey protein has ether done cross flow micro filtration or using a cold process micro and ultra filtration system, one product that has this done is Glyco-whey from gen-tec. it has a really high quality.
not many companies buy the ion-exchange protein anymore, it is cheaper and mixes well with water but the quality is less.

| Question 53: I saw that you indicated the fastest absorbed form of protein is FFAA's. What products contain this? Can (or should) they be taken with BCAA's and at what amounts? These would taken as an alternative to powders such as Horley's ice...? |
(Posted: 18th June, 2008) |
Answer: Hi
Due to the horleys ice is a WPI and a fast digestive protein you can use the FFAA's faster, horleys also has good amount of the BCAA's.
If you do lot of weight and train really hard i would recommend to buy extra FFAA's and BCAA's for anyone its great for muscle building purpose and help for the recovery and damage muscle tissue. the amount would be 1 tsp in the morning 1 tsp before training and 1 tsp after .

its looks good, the diet is the most important foundation you can have if you are going to to lose weight or put on, you can do this help with a supplement but if the diet is bad, it will be hard.
i will write out a EATING PLAN OVERVIEW for you to try and see if you can get some idea from.
Breakast: Protein shake with porridge, Weetbix or Special K or
Egg whites (3 whites to 1 yolk) with rye bread. (2-3Thermogenics)
Midmorning: Protein bar or
Protein shake with a piece of fruit (apple) or
Fat free yogurt with cottage cheese (3/1) with nuts (sunflower, cashew)or
Tin of salmon or tuna with fruit or salad
Lunch: Left overs from dinner or
Chicken, beef, lamb or fish with rice, pasta or rye bread and veges or
Subway roast chicken (6") NO cheese, fat free mayo (2-3Thermogenics )
Midafternoon: Same as midmorning (last carbs for the day) (2-3Thermogenics)
Dinner: Fish and salad or
Chicken, beef, lamb stir fry or
Scrambled eggs with salad or veges
Drink at least 2 litres of water a day. 1 cups on rising and a 2 cups after training, with 1 cup with each meal and you will do it easy.
The best veges are broccoli, cauliflower and celery. Steamed or raw is best.
If feeling hungry between meals drink water and eat more veges and salad at meals.
Remember to use palm and fist portion sizes when eating protein and carbs ie a piece of toast should be about the size and thickness of your palm, you may need two pieces. Rice, pasta and cereals should be compared to a clenched fist and ready to eat. Don't pour out a fist size clump of Rice or Pasta and then cook it to eat.
Cheat day occurs ONCE a week. Only eat three unauthorised meals. Ie a big mac then a sundae and a 100g of lollies would be your entire day. If you drink alcohol remember it has nearly twice the calories of carbs and nearly as much as fat. Limit drinking to off day if possible, so that means three drinks is your entire cheat day. If you are a borderline alcoholic no more than one SMALL glass every other day.
If you can make these sacrifices for the next twelve weeks you will have a great body, feel great and then be able to take an entire day of to eat almost what you want without guilt. You can also reintroduce carbs to your evening meals. Remember this is a strict eating plan for just 3 short months, after that moderation will be the key.
Exercise in The morning at least three times a week on an empty stomach for best results. Do 20 minutes of intense cardio. Then wait up to a ˝ hour before having breakfast. Your body will still be burning fat rapidly until breakfast. Don’t go over an hour though, your metabolism will sense the lack of food and slow down, obviously not the desired effect |

Question 59: Hi mate,
Thankyou for your awsome FAQs, they have been very helpfull in deciding what products are best for me.
I would like to know what you think about Ultimate Nutrition - ISO Sensation 93 compared with Horleys ICE Whey? |
(Posted: 19th August, 2008) |
Answer: Hi
We currently not stocking the iso sensation 93 but I now that the ultimate nutrition is really good, at that moment I can only advice you on Horelys due to we stock it. the ultimate nutrition is a isolate which has 2g added glutamin and 1,5 g added BCAA's per serve, the Horleys ice is a other isolate pre protein powder has more glutamine and a higher level of BCAA'S. and a would say its a preference of price and taste. |

| Question 60: Hi, as WPI is a fast absorption protein, does this mean that WPI is useless after 30 minutes of workout? |
(Posted: 26th August, 2008) |
| Answer: No, its fine to use any time but is best suited when you need rapid uptake of amino acids to the muscle cell. |

| Question 61: Hello, am using whey and a recovery stack with good weight sessions and cardio but im struggling to put on any size.I am thinking my cardio might be interfering with muscle building. What sort of intensity and type of cardio works for you?help greatly appreciated? |
(Posted: 26th August, 2008) |
| Answer: A lot depends on your build. Cardio will inhibit muscle growth if done for too long a period. Best to do short high intensity cardio after weights. Just think of a sprinters body compared with a long distance runner :) |

| Question 62: Do you recommend Max's HGF WPI or Horley ICE? If so why? Thank you? |
(Posted: 8th Sept, 2008) |
| Answer: Both powders are good. Horleys ICE is our biggest seller. Being NZ diary (considered to be the best source of raw materials by most people in the industry), Horleys ICE contains 5% Hydrolysed protein, 2.5g of glutamine, 8g of BCAA's per serve. |

| Question 63: Can i say that everyone who is trying to build muscle mass can have WPI. For those who requires carb can always add themselve such as from banana, etc. ? |
(Posted: 16th Sept, 2008) |
| Answer: Yes...that is true in part. However how many banana's you have depends on how fast your metabolism is. The best protein type is WPI, but for someone with a fast metabolism it is useless unless it get to the muscle site and is not used up for energy. So...simple carbs will protect the protein from being used for energy. |

| Question 65: Hi, im 180cm and weigh 100kg, i work out 4 times a week and do heavy weight training. i want to lose fat and also maintain and gain some muscle so is VP2 better to use or ice or anything else that you would recommend? |
(Posted: 19th Sept, 2008) |
Answer: Both are great proteins. In that top level is ICE, VP2, Nitro-Tech HC and even Musahsi WPI and BSC WPI are not too shabby. I also really rate the NOS from MRI (but it does contain some carbs).
However to make the most use of your Protein take in some carbs pre and post training otherwise the body may use some of the awesome protein for energy instead of muscle repair.
From protein, Powerfull may be a good option to increase nitrogen uptake into muscle cells (as it helps produce more testosterone), a good creatine supplement and even a preworkout product like Vapor, No-Xplode or Black powder can increase strength.
Im not saying any of these are a must have...but any of them (or all of them) can increase either training intensity and/or recovery. |

| Question 66: I train on a fairly semi-regular basis (3 or so times a week, mostly weights), I have just started using MRI Black powder, and ICE whey together. I take a serving of ICE with water about half an hour before a workout, a serving of Black powder immediately before a workout, and ICE again about half an hour after again with water. Is this a good stack, and is there anything else I can be taking before/after training or any other time to enhance growth/recovery. Cheers? |
(Posted: 19th Sept, 2008) |
| Answer: Put in some carbs with your ICE post training. You could also try adding in a good test booster like Powefull. Try adding one new product at a time and see how it improves your size and recovery. |

| Question 67: Iam currently training 4 times a week, now into a cutting down phase and eat a moderate protein/ moderate clean carbs/ low fat diet and use Controlled Labs Green magnitude creatine. Iam looking to switch to a WPI powder in order to allow me to increase protein amount and keep carbs at a medium level for maximum lean mass gain. Is Horleys the best product for me, or is there a better option? |

(Posted: 17th Nov, 2008) |

| Question 69: Thanks for the tips, this has been great. I'm 27, 183cm, 87kg with a potbelly gut that measures 96cm, arms at 13". I'm basically trying to build muscle, drop fat and get more definition, so I bought Whey Ice and tablets called Dynaburn (for the fat burning). Thing is, I do cardio only twice a week (25 min each) and free weights for my arms in a few different manners, then about 150 slow push ups in different styles (I don't have a bench press right now). Will this cut it in terms of my goals? |
(Posted: 19th Dec, 2008) |
| Answer: As long as you are eating right the results will come. With the training I would do A whole body workout with cardio 4 times a week. |

| Question 70: Hi, I'm thinking of changing from Iso sensation to Horley's ice whey. Would it be necessary to take Musashi recovery capsules along with a glutamine capsule as i have trouble with recovery or would this mess up the dose of BCAA's. I also take superpump 250 before i train with extra creatine. Is all of this ok to combine? Thanks? |
(Posted: 19th Jan, 2009) |
| Answer: It would be fine to still take the BCAA's as you can never have too much of them as well as the Glutamine. |

| Question 73: Soon I want to shed fat, but maintain muscle mass. I was thinking of stacking Horleys Ice Whey with Lipo6. Would this be ok ? and do I need to add any carbs to Horleys Ice Whey when taking it after a work-out ? |
(Posted: 30th Jan, 2009) |
| Answer: Yes, If Lipo 6 is not available use Hydroxycut Hardcore. Taking carbs with protein post weight training is essential to make best use of your protein to build muscle. I would use 1g of carbs for every 2kg of bodyweigh post weight training. |

| Question 74: Hi. I am an age group triathlete (24 y.o female) and train approx 20 hours per week (all cardio). I am looking for a protein powder that I can take after most tranining sessions to help with muscle recovery and strength gains but cannot afford to put on any weight! Does this product fit what im after or is there something else you would suggest? Thanks? |
(Posted: 2nd Feb, 2009) |
| Answer: This would be fine to help with recovery. It contains no carbs so you would need to replace glycogen with endura etc (but im sure you already do that). Also consider BCAA's, Glutamine and/or Multi Aminos if you would rather have something to add into your electrolyte drink. Many, Many sports people do the later as this has little effect on your calorie intake. |

| Question 77: HI I am 50 yrs old 6'3" 114 kg. I am taking "'ON" WPI to try and gain a small amount of muscle bulk and lean up a bit. I train every day with a good diet. You mention having the shake for breakfast, I only eat fruit at breakfast and find that the WPI upsets my stomach. Do you think it it could be the citrus in the fruit brekkie. Is the WPI the right product for my aim? |
(Posted: 16th Feb, 2009) |
| Answer: I would be using a WPI/WPC protein rather than just WPI as it will have a longer lasting release. it certainly could be the fruit that upsets your stomach when you have your WPI. I would go for a shake (Glyco-Whey) and 1-2 slices of rye or rice bread. |

thank you? |
(Posted: 27th Feb, 2009) |
| Answer: The ICE is great for around training times but not all that suitable for night time use. The most suitable products for night time use would be SP3, Max's Nite time or 100% Gold Standard Casein. |

I would like your advice on a pre workout supplement and a post workout supplement to get the best results I possibly can. I am a female and 25 years old. Your advice would be most appreciated? |
(Posted: 2nd March, 2009) |
| Answer: I would suggest going with Synabol. It is an amino acid, glutamine, beta alanine, B-Vitamins and Q10 mix. It will not only help you with your energy levels but also with muscle recovery and the best thing is its no calories, no sugar, no dairy and no stimulants. It is perfect to have pre and post training. |

| Question 80: Hi, I'm currently training five days per week and sometimes extra cardio on sundays. I take No- explode, BSC Myocytin HC and Vital Strength WPI, do you think it would be overkill to start taking a test booster and glutamine supplement on top of those mentioned? I'm 24 years old 180cm and 80kgs!? |

| Question 81: Hi, I'm 190cm and 107kg and have been going to gym 4 times a week for about year. I seem to just just bulk up, and was wondering whether taking ice whey would help get me ripped/lean (with right diet & cardio)... And also would you suggest taking creatine to get lean, if so which one would you suggest to take with ice to get lean? (note I have never used any creatine before) Cheers!!? |
(Posted: 13th March, 2009) |
| Answer: The Ice will be benefical it just using before and after training to get your protein requirements to maintain muscle and if used with the right diet and cardio. If wanting to speed up the bodyfat loss Ripped Factors maybe a good option to us in it place. Creatine can be used when losing bodyfat as it helps build lean muscle but you may get some water retention. |

| Question 82: Hi, I've been using Optimum Nutrition 100% whey Gold Standard for a couple of weeks and want to know if you think ON or Horleys Ice Whey are a better fit for putting on muscle bulk and losing belly fat. I am about 72kg, 175cm and 49 years of age. Pretty fit and pass for 10-15 yrs younger. Training with weights and interval training (sprints) --- am definitely getting stronger and leaner but not much bulk. Should I be looking at Ice + a creatine maybe? THANKS!? |
(Posted: 16th March, 2009) |
| Answer: I think the ON is a better blend because it is WPI/WPC rather than just WPI, so it would be better for recovery and muscle but maybe it would be worth a try to see what works best for you. Either way i would add the creatine to either product to maximise muscle gains. |

| Question 83: Hi guys, im thinking about buying the ice whey, and i still have a bit of ripped factors left. i was wondering if it would be bad to have the ripped factors as a mid morning snack and then just use the ice as a post work out shake as well as stacking this with a creatine either ester what do you guys think? |
(Posted: 14th April, 2009) |
| Answer: It would be fine to do that if you are wanting to stay lean the only thing with the Ripped is with it being an WPI it is not a great option for a mid morning as it doesn't sustain you for any more than 1 hour, so something like Pro Lean or Six Pack Protein might be a better option as it is a sustained release product. |

Answer: Hi Adrian,
USP Labs are currently going through the licensing process with all of their products, so we don't have an exact eta sorry. Hopefully it will be within the next two months but we can't say for sure.
If you are looking for another thermogenic, our most popular sellers are Thermalene Extreme by Syn-Tec, PyrogenX by Horleys or Hydroxycut Hardcore.

| Question 86: Can hydroxycut max be used with fat stop capsules? |
(Posted: 28th Oct, 2009) |
Answer: HI - it can but you are probably just wasting your money as they are both designed to do the same thing. Which in turn doesnt mean you will those "more". If you are wanting to lose body fat and already have the fat stop we would recommend stacking the D-toxilean or Acetyl L-carnitine as thats what we all do here for a great fat loss combo.
Hope this helps... |

| Question 87: I'm part of a very high level school boy rowing program, 6"3 but around 87 kilos. Currently I'm using Horley's Ice Whey, but have recently been given Hydroxy Ripped by Vital Strength. I'm looking for something that will make me strong, but at the same time be completely ripped. Too much mass is not appropriate. We have training 10 times a week, 3 of which are in the gym. What should I be taking to ensure I reach optimum state by March next year. BTW I'm 17 years old? |
(Posted: 13th Nov, 2009) |
Answer: Hi. The proteins you are using are great and recommended. I suggest adding a creatine monohydrate supplement in your diet to assist with strength. I suggest a product called CREABOLAN, it is to be taken on training days (15-30mins before training), which sounds like everyday of the week for you. Creatine monohydrate is a precursor to creatine phosphate. By supplementing with CM, CP levels in muscle apparently are maximized, and more muscular work can occur, since there are greater energy reserves to use.
Recommended daily intake is approx 1g per 10kg of body weight and double that for the first seven days. Perhaps taking creabolan and a creatine monohydrate added in your shakes could benefit. |

| Question 88: Can A-bomb,T-bomb,Leukic,Gakic, Hydrocycut be taken all together? |
(Posted: 2nd Dec, 2009) |
| Answer: Hi. It is fine for these products to be taken together. A-Bomb and Leukic are both Anabolic activators. So I wouldn’t double up on this supplement. It would be fine to take T-Bomb, A-Bomb, Gakic and Hydroxycut together. Hydroxycut is a thermogenic, so as long as your water intake is kept up it should be fine. |

| Question 89: I currently stack Maximus,Tribulus and BSC multi-vma. I take multi vma at wake up and than maximus and tribulus half to an hour before training. I train 4 to 5times a week...What do u think of adding horleys Ice whey straight after training? or should i just double up on maximus? |
(Posted: 27th Jan, 2010) |
| Answer: Hi. The maximus is a WPC with carbs, so it is sustained release. Horleys ICE is a WPI and is very fast acting. Straight after training your muscles act like sponges and will absorb nutrients quite quickly. Horleys ICE is high in BCAA's and is perfect post workout protein. |

| Question 90: Hi Im about 178cm tall 65kg weight and wanting gain muscles and weight as well I wonder which one would you recommand me between horleys ice whey and optimum gold standard whey? I train 5 times a week only weight training thx? |
(Posted: 1st Feb, 2010) |
Answer: Hi,
Your question on the protein comparison is a difficult one to answer directly as the proteins in question are designed for different purposes. I will quickly give you a breakdown of the two types of protein powders you have asked about:
• Horleys ICE is an isolate protein and most valuable immediately post training as it is absorbed quite quickly by the body. (Approx 20 – 60min depending on your system).
• Gold Standard whey is a blend of isolates and concentrates essentially and may give the system a little more sustained protein release post workout.
You can see that the ICE is a little more specific in its intent (although that said it is still very capable of being an all rounder) while the Gold Standard can be used a little more diversely over the day.
If you would like more information, and I encourage you to seek as much as you can, please call or come in and see us at the supplement den.
To gain lean body tissue you have to feed the muscles you have taxed in training predominately with good clean macro nutrients (food) and then supplement with a good all round protein as well. My advice is to get an isolate for post training and a concentrate/caseinate blend for protein supplementation at all other times if you can afford it. If not then an isolate/concentrate blend is the next best thing for general use. We have a huge range of protein powders at the supplement den so again please call or come in and see us so we can point you in the right direction based on your goals and training.
Remember it is not just what you do in the gym that dictates your growth it is also what you do the other 23 hours of the day that counts. Get the protein in ASAP post training and eat big and clean to get big an lean.
Hope this helps champion. |
